I met Kibreab while I was running around Lake Union.
Born and raised in Eritrea, Kibreab is proud to say his 4 older siblings were freedom fighters. Sadly, when the civil war ended in 1991, when the freedom figthers returned home, Kibreab’s family learned all four had given their life for the freedom of the country…half his family had perished fighting for their freedom. Kibreab went on to be a teacher for twelve years until unbearable pain forced him to leave his home country in search of medical care, which took him on on a two-year journey through East Africa. When he was unable to find the care he needed in Africa, he decided to travel to the United States. He currently resides in Shoreline and is studying to be a nurse.
More to come on Kibreab soon.
